As a grass-roots organization with 3000+ members, it takes a lot of teamwork and triathletes to keep everything running smoothly and our members having fun training, racing and howling. The Membership Committee

As a member, you receive a t-shirt, card, directory and new member packet. Ever wonder how that happens? It's all through the teamwork of Carolyn Kiper (Mad Dog #983), Barbara Burke (Mad Dog #2409) and Rose Hoge (Mad Dog #1969). Carolyn receives the membership application, enters the data in the database, and then forwards it. Rose makes our distinctive laminated membership cards, and Barbara finally assembled the packet with the t-shirt and takes it to the post-office. Overseeing all of this is Carolyn in her role of Vice President (of Membership).

The Newsletter Committee

The Newsletter Editor appoints a committee to assist in the content of the newsletter. Currently,   Lisa Kaschak (Mad Dog #132) and Tim Hudson (Mad Dog #1040)compile Race Results (or you can submit your own at RaceResults@stpetemaddogs.com). The Birthdays and New Members are provided by the Membership Committee (as well as the Member Application), while the Secretary provides Membership and/or Board Meeting Minutes. The President addresses the Membership each month in the President's letter, on page 2. Rue Morgan, Mad Dog #1, works on the ads (and you can contact him at Advertising@stpetemaddogs.com). Seasonal: The Budget Committee

After elections in October, the elected Treasurer must quickly assemble a Budget Committee, to present a proposed club Budget at our annual membership meeting, which takes place on the last Thursday in January. Over the course of November, December and the first half of January, we need members to point our where funds may be allocated, trim spending on items that do not benefit the membership, or point out gaps in the budget for items that are traditional. Seasonal: Events Committees

We say "Committees" because generally, we have a rotating series of committees which may be comprised of different people for different events. Events typically include (but are not limited to): Hair of the Dog Triathlon, St. Anthony's Pre & Post Race Parties, Wednesday Nights, the Luau, the Anniversary Party and the Christmas Party. Seasonal: Homestays

Kathy Morgan (Mad Dog #2) and Carolyn Kiper (Mad Dog #983) are the two main contacts for St. Anthony's Pro-Triathlete Homestays, with a lot of assistance from Tim Hudson (Mad Dog #1040) who coordinates the Ironman 70.3 Pro Homestays. The Mad Dogs coordinate this massive effort both for St. Anthony's in April, and the Clearwater 70.3 Championship in November. You can contact Kathy at kathymorganmd2@yahoo.com.
